Connect online, join queues, and understand what employers can see.

Goal

Help candidates join an employer’s virtual queue, attend a video call, and keep track of the employers they connected with during a Withe virtual fair.

When to use this

Use this workflow during a virtual Withe fair when you want to:

  • Join an employer’s queue and meet 1:1 on a video call
  • Upload your resume (if you have not already)
  • Leave anonymous feedback about your experience
  • View your past connections later

Helpful tip before the fair starts

If possible, open the fair link and log in on the same device you will use for the event (laptop, tablet, or phone). This helps you join queues faster and avoids sign-in issues when the fair goes live.

Step-by-step: Joining a virtual queue and meeting an employer

1) Open the virtual fair

  1. Open the fair link provided by the organizer.
  2. Sign in (or register if needed).
  3. You will land on the fair page with a list of employers.
Virtual fair page: When the Virtual Fair begins you will see participating employers and a “Join queue” button.

2) Join an employer’s queue

  1. Find the employer you want to meet.
  2. Click Join queue.

After you join, Withe will show:

  • Your place in line
  • An estimated wait time
  • An opportunity to upload your resume if you haven’t done so already.
After clicking “Join queue,” you’ll see your number in queue and estimated wait time .

3) Get ready for the video call

When it is your turn, Withe will open a pre-call screen so you can:

  • Choose your camera and microphone
  • Confirm your speakers or headphones
  • Make sure you are ready to join
  1. Check your camera and audio settings.
  2. Click Join when you are ready.
Pre-call screen: confirm your camera, microphone, and speakers before joining.

4) Join the video call

Once you click Join, you will enter an in-browser video call with the employer.

Video call screen: use call controls like mute, camera, chat, and screen share.

5) Leave the call and return to the fair

When you leave the call or the call ends, you will see a “left the room” screen.

If you left by accident:

  • Click Rejoin to go back into the call (if it is still active)

If the call is finished:

  • Click Return to fair to keep connecting with other employers
If you leave the call, you can rejoin or return to the fair.

After the call: Feedback, resume, and saved connections

1) Leave anonymous feedback (optional but encouraged)

After your conversation, you may be prompted to leave anonymous feedback about the employer interaction. This feedback is shared with the organizer to help improve the event experience.

Feedback prompt: rate your experience and leave optional comments.

2) Upload your resume (if needed)

If you did not upload a resume during registration, you will see an option to upload it after the call. Uploading a resume helps the employer follow up.

Post-connection steps: you may be prompted to upload a resume if you have not already.

3) Your connections are saved

Every employer you connect with is saved to your profile so you can return later and review what happened.

  • You can go back to the fair page and connect with more employers
  • You can view previous connections from the employer card (example: “View connection”)
After connecting, you can view the connection again from the fair page.

Privacy: What employers receive

  • Your name, email, and resume are shared only with employers you actively choose to join a queue for, have a video call with, or indicate interest in their organization
  • Employers you do not actively indicate interest in, join the queue for or connect with will not receive your information

Common questions

Do I need to stay on the page while I wait?

Yes. Stay on the queue page so you are ready when it is your turn. If you leave the page, you may miss the call prompt.

Can I join multiple employer queues at once?

We currently only support one virtual queue at a time.

Will employers see my feedback?

Feedback is anonymous and is shared with the organizer. Employers do not see it as coming from you.

Troubleshooting

“I don’t see a Join queue button”

The Join queue button only appears once the fair has started.

If the fair is live and you still do not see it:

  • Confirm you are registered for the fair
  • Confirm you are signed in to your account
  • Refresh the page and check again

If the button still does not appear, contact the fair organizer for help.

“I clicked Join queue but nothing happened”

Try:

  • Refresh the page and click Join queue again
  • Confirm you are signed in on the device you are using
  • Try another browser tab or a different browser if needed

My camera or mic is not working

Try:

  • Allow browser permissions for camera and microphone
  • Close other apps using your mic/camera (Zoom, Teams, Meet)
  • Re-open the pre-call screen and re-select your devices

I accidentally left the call

Click Rejoin if the call is still active. If not, return to the fair and join the queue again.
